Life Fitness C1 Basic Exercise Bike Review

Our view – whilst the C1 Basic is the lowest priced bike in their range it still packs quite a punch. It has a great solid feel with a very smooth and quiet action. There are a number of really useful features such as a bottle holder and reading rack which make using it a treat.

Life Fitness offer both basic and advanced console options on the same bike. The Basic console on the C1 has only 5 training programmes which may be okay for some but for this price you might expect more. In our view the advanced versions of the console are always a better option than the basic – the same goes for their treadmills and elliptical trainers.

The seat is very comfortable and has 14 different adjustable positions and the racing handle bars allow for a good riding posture. The C1 Basic only has hand grips to measure your pulse and no option to use a more accurate chest strap. There is also no heart rate controlled programme with the Basic console. The warranty is an excellent lifetime on the frame, 5 years on the alternator, 3 years parts and labour on everything else.

The display and console are well laid out with a good sized LCD screen (white characters on a blue screen) that’s easy to read.

Review Summary - In Brief

A great bike in itself although we feel the C1 Advanced model is a far better option.
