Our view - The C3 Advanced bike is over £200 more than the C1 Advanced Bike but do you get that much extra for the price? Well... it depends on how much you intend to use it. There are some nice touches such as more comfortable cushioned pedals with non-slip surface and straps. It also has a bigger accessory tray so there's space for two bottles - it still has the reading rack. It does have a slightly more comfortable saddle than the C1 bike with 'deluxe cushioning and upholstery' which is important if you plan to spend long periods on it.
The big difference is that it's self-powered so you don't required mains giving you the option to use it anyway - even in the garden if you wish. The usual warranty applies - lifetime on the frame, 5 years on the alternator, 3 years parts and labour on everything else.
The pre-set programmes are great for adding variation to your training which can only help with motivation. The 10 programmes include heart sync workouts that keep your pulse rate within pre-determined targets for either burning fat or improving fitness levels.
The goal workouts allow you to set a goal of either distance, calories burnt or pulse rate plus you can customise your own workout. The console stores two user profiles so you and your partner can keep track of your progress.
Yes, it's a great bike that's very comfortable to use but you have to decide whether the extra comfort and versatility of being self-powered is worth almost £200 - if you're going to be training on it for more than 3 hours a week we think it's worth it, otherwise go for the C1 Advanced Lifecycle.
