Reebok B5.1e Exercise Bike Review

Proform 748 EKG Exercise Bike from Restyle Reebok B5.1e

Our score -

So as you may expect, the first thing we did once the bike was assembled was to sit on it. We found it nice and stable and the adjustable seat and handle bars, as well as comfort pedals with straps. In our opinion this is one of the most comfortable bikes that we have used recently. According to the manual the maximum user weight is a decent 150KG

In total there are 9 programmes on the 5.1 covering all the workout options that you will need. All the expected programmes make an appearance, with targets that include time, distance and calories as well as interval, fat burning and endurance programmes.

For those who really like to mix things up there is the random programme too.

As you may expect from a bike of this calibre, Things get a little more technical and we really liked the Watt Control and target pulse programmes. The watt control is great for rehabilitation as all you do it enter the target Watts and the machine adjusts the resistance to keep the watt output consistent. The final programme on the list is heart rate controlled.

The B5.1 has a built in polar receiver, so just add a compatible chest belt and you can unlock the heart rate control functionality - with an EGC reading on the display. A chest belt was not supplied with our review model so please check with your retailer before placing an order.

The display is backlit - a nice little touch - and gives you all the data you will need during your workout such as speed, distance, time, resistance, (theoretical) calories burned and last but not least heart rate.

You might think that Reebok have gone overboard with the user profiles (there are 9 in total) but we think this is a great idea. They allow you to store all the individual exercise data for each user. This is a great way of keeping tabs on your progress and saves all the hassle of entering your details each and every time you come to use the machine.

As with all quality bikes, the integrated transport wheels mean that when you are not using the machine you wheel it away.

Finally, should anything go wrong you are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. It lasts 2 years and covers parts and labour.
