Kettler Golf S Exercise Bike Review

 

Our view – This is Kettler’s offering for beginners to intermediate, if you’re already as fit as a fiddle and looking for a bike we suggest you go for the higher spec Kettler Golf ST Pro with more programmes and higher resistance levels. Back to this one, it has a very comfortable gel filled saddle that can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally to find the optimum position. The action is incredibly smooth and quiet with a good range of 10 resistance levels that can be selected via a button on the console.

The display console is excellent in our view, easy to use and read and displays a heck of a lot of data including time, speed, pedalling rate, distance covered per session, total distance covered, energy consumption, room temperature, pulse rate and recovery pulse-rate which gives you a fitness rating from 1-6. This is great to keep you coming back as you can measure your progress.

There are a number of ways you can monitor your heart rate whilst exercising (an alarm bleeps if you exceed your pre-determined limit based on your age and weight). You can either use the hand grips, these can be removed from the handles, an ear clip that comes with the bike, or you can buy a chest strap that communicates with the built-in chip. The chest strap is the best option as it’s more accurate and you don’t need to keep your hands on the grips.
