Viavito Veloria Indoor Cycle Review

Once a newcomer to the market in the not so distant past, Viavito is no longer the new kid on the block. It’s a brand that’s now been around for nearly 10 years and since its launch it has steadily continued to grow in stature. With a strong focus on continuous product development Viavito isn’t a brand that brings a new model to the market each year. Instead they focus on improving their existing products over time and it’s a strategy that’s definitely working. We have been impressed us with the first bikes they bought to market, ones which have since proved their worth in real world environments, something that’s easy to see just by looking at their reviews over time.

Since coming to market Viavito has built a solid reputation for producing low cost, high reliability products that perform beyond expectation. When we found out that they’ve launched a new bike onto the market we couldn’t wait to get our hands on it. The Viavito Veloria indoor bike specs look good on paper but can an indoor cycle at a price point this low really perform how we’ve come to expect a Viavito bike to perform? Only one way to find out, so we got one into Exercise Bike Reviews towers to take a close up look, here’s what we found…

First, as always there’s teeny tiny matter of assembling the bike and we’re happy to report that there’s nothing to see here. The whole assembly process took us around 30 minutes and our test unit was ready to be put to the test. Assembly of the Veloria is as easy as one could ever want with clear diagrams and well-written instructions. Well done, Viavito!

Once full assembled the Veloria looks pretty much as simple as any bike out there. Even the computer is a simple LCD affair that provides basic feedback on your workout including time elapsed, speed, distance, theoretical calorie burn, and total distance. There is absolutely nothing fancy about this bike. It has a real air of simplicity about it that most other bikes don’t have. With thick-gauge steel components, it also manages to combine that simplicity with rock-solid construction. Shake this bike and it doesn’t want to budge an inch, leaving no doubt that this is a very well constructed bit of kit, despite the low price tag.

The console is as simple as it looks. There are no pre-set workouts, no fancy graphics, no videos, no multiple modes, no user profiles. As a consequence, the console doesn’t need mains power to function so you can set this bike up anywhere without needing to consider where to plug it in. This makes this bike particularly simple to understand, site and operate. The Veloria is designed to be simple in every way but if you do want to watch videos, or wish to subscribe to an interactive training service such as Peleton to use in your workouts, Viavito has ensured that the Veloria is fitted with an integrated tablet holder so you don’t miss out on having that option.

It’s not just the console that’s simple here either. The resistance system used on the Veloria is a manual magnetic set up meaning to increase resistance you turn the big red knob clockwise. To decrease the resistance turn the big red knob anti-clockwise. It really couldn’t be simpler and is in fact the very same system that’s often employed on bikes from more prestigious brands out there. From a user point of view, it just doesn’t get any easier than this! This isn’t just a simple bike either, it’s also quite compact with a footprint of just 102cm x 58cm (40” x 23”) meaning it’ll fit nicely into most rooms. This relatively small footprint along with the lack of need for an electrical socket nearby makes this model truly practical.

Ergonomically, the Veloria is excellent. With a few adjustments, it’s a cinch to find a comfortable riding position which is just about the most important thing on any indoor cycle. Adjustments to the saddle can be made horizontally and vertically and the padded multi-grip handlebars also adjust vertically making it hassle-free to get into a good riding position. Most riders will quickly be able to get comfortable here, and even if you’re especially tall, there’s lots of height adjustment available. The saddle itself is a racing-style seat which, if you’re already accustomed to this type of saddle is actually pretty comfortable, though as always if you’re returning to cycling after a long break or are new to cycling, it may take a week or so to get used to. The good news here if you’re not into racing saddles, is that it’s easy to swap the saddle to any other as the fitting is that of a standard bicycle.

The overall riding experience is very good indeed, especially for a bike at this price point. The 9kg flywheel and belt drive system deliver a smooth ride all the way throughout the entire cycle making the ride you get impressively smooth. Viavito clearly knows how to build bikes properly and the experience the team there have really shows here. Putting the price tag aside for a moment, the Veloria is a smooth, comfortable bike that’s built properly and delivers a comfortable and effective workout. We like this bike, to the point that we think Viavito could easily sell this for quite a bit more than they are, in a word, impressive.

The Viavito Veloria comes with a 1 year on-site parts and labour warranty for peace of mind.
